Montie Design, in partnership with the RTP Product Development Guild, is proud to present the Montie Design Lunch and Learn Series of presentation and networking events in 2011. These low-key, high-impact seminars provide networking opportunities and relevant insights to those in the business of developing and bringing to market engineered products.

The April 6 Lunch and Learn features Al Ely, CEO of ADR Hydro-Cut, presenting "Advantages of Manufacturing with Waterjet Technology" at the Montie Design studio, just south of RDU Airport in Morrisville.

Al Ely and business partner Ron Harris founded ADR Hydro-Cut, Inc. in 1998 to fill a need for waterjet-cut parts in the Raleigh area.  The company for which he had worked had a need to cut parts from gasketing materials that were very complex and could not be die-cut.  He had to outsource the parts cutting to a company in Savannah, Ga.  The distance made it difficult to work out the "bugs" on prototype parts -- which created a business opportunity.  Since that time, ADR Hydro-Cut, Inc. has worked with many low-tech and high-tech companies in the Research Triangle area, using waterjet to manufacture both prototype parts and finished products from a wide variety of materials.

“Cutting thicker materials and being able to rapidly produce parts has gone on to fill our days beyond our wildest dreams.  We love to be able to solve a problem for our customers.  Since 1998 we have worked with an impressive number of customers, our active list totaling over 500,” says Ely.

He intends to speak about the benefits of utilizing abrasive waterjet cutting technology to help you develop new parts for your products rapidly and accurately.

The event will begin at noon and will include a catered lunch by Panera Bread (please email us at semonna@montie.com if you have dietary restrictions).  There will be time for discussion and networking before and after the presentation.  We will conclude about 1:15 p.m.

All proceeds from registration fees will be donated to Post 7383 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

We look forward to your participation!
